This exquisite and robust breed of horses, one of the oldest heavy horse breeds globally, traces its lineage back to Ancient Rome.

This striking pair has been immortalised in a pattern as a bespoke creation for a distinguished lady with a deep appreciation for heavy horse breeds. We are fortunate to have received her consent to release this design as a Limited Edition series ‘Ardennes Heavy Horses’, limited to 25 patterns.

Crafted for 18 count aida, the pattern employs 27 colours to vividly bring these horses to life. It features confetti stitching to retain the intricate depth and detail. Additionally, a few fractional stitches and some backstitching accentuate the formidable strength of these magnificent horses, while also reflecting their gentle and willing nature.
